JENNIFER HALTOM DOAN

Jennifer Haltom Doan is the 66th National President of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the sixth female president in its history. Doan is currently the managing partner of Haltom & Doan, a boutique trial and appellate firm located in Texarkana, TX-AR that represents Fortune 100 companies and individuals in high-stakes matters. With over thirty years of experience as a trial lawyer, Doan has handled a diverse array of complex litigation, including product liability, intellectual property, antitrust, class action, personal injury and bet-the-company litigation.

JUSTICE STEVEN LEE SMITH

Justice Steve Smith was appointed to the Tenth Court of Appeals by Governor Greg Abbott in August 2021. He previously served as Judge of the 361st District Court in Brazos County for over 22 years and as Judge of Brazos County Court at Law No. 1. Following his law school graduation in 1977, he practiced law in Bryan/College Station and served as Municipal Judge for the City of College Station. Justice Smith has taught judicial education in 13 states and served on the faculty of the National Judicial College since 2002. He chaired the Judicial Section of the State Bar of Texas in 2010–2011 and currently serves on the board of Foster’s Home for Children.
